Perry purchased his first time trial bike from River City Cycles in 2015, just prior to his first long course triathlon - the Sunshine Coast Ironman 70.3. Prior to that, he had competed in a number of sprint distance triathlons riding his road bike. At the Sunshine Coast 70.3 on his new Cervelo P3, however, he was able to nab a strong 5th place in his hotly contested age group.
This first result spurred Perry onto bigger and better things. He achieved a 5th place at Noosa in 2015, followed by first at the Tweed Enduro and a magnificent first place at Port Macquarie 70.3. He also managed to jump on the podium at Noosa in 2016. Two starts at the Cairns Ironman have also resulted in 2 Kona qualifications. Perry finished Kona in 2016 with an impressive 15th in his age group.
He will now ride his new Cervelo P5 Etap at Kona in 2017. He will also aim to represent the Cervelo brand to the wider Brisbane triathlon community, including within his own club - the Brisbane Triathlon Club.
